Nestled on the banks of the Columbia River in southwest Washington, the Port of Kalama boasts a mile of riverfront playground, beaches, public parks and marina, a vibrant community of antiques, shops and restaurants, and a rich small-town culture. As a key player in the Kalama community, the Port is committed to enhancing public recreational opportunities.​​

Boating & Fishing
BEGINNERS HOLE is located off I-5 exit 32. Turn east on Kalama River Road and go 1.2 miles past the former Mahaffey's campground.

CAMP KALAMA RV PARK is located off I-5, along the banks of the Kalama River.
​Includes: large RV and campsites, boat launch, beach area, store, shower, laundry, restrooms, dump site, handicap access, cafe, fishing, playground

FISHERMAN'S LOOP is located off I-5 exit 32, turn west on Kalama River Road for 0.3 mi, then left on Fisherman's Loop Rd (Private Road).

HAYDU PARK is the first large park built in Cowlitz County in more than a decade and is located at 253 Kalama River Road.
Includes: 24 acres of baseball and soccer fields, children’s playground, horse riding arena, restrooms, tennis courts, basketball courts, on-site parking, expo area, several thousand feet of Kalama River frontage

KALAMA INDUSTRIAL TRAIL is tucked behind the Port of Kalama's Kalama River Industrial Park. This 1.4 mile gravel trail takes you from the banks of the Kalama River to a small beach on the Columbia River.

KRESS LAKE is a popular trout and warmwater fish lake, located off of I-5 exit 32, then .3 miles down Old Pacific Highway. Kress Lake provides some bank fishing, and includes a trail circling the entire lake.

MODROW BRIDGE- is located off I-5 take exit 32. Turn east on Kalama River Road, go 1.2 miles, turn south across Modrow Bridge, and just past the bridge turn left down a dirt road to water access. Modrow Bridge offers visitors access to bank fishing and boating.

PORT OF KALAMA MARINA offers 222-slips for permanent moorage and over 700 feet of public guest dock space along the Columbia River. Users will also enjoy a free public boat launch, a marine vessel fueling station, potable water and a sewer/porta potty clean-out station between boathouses C & D. Parking is free, but overnight parking requires a pass that can be obtained at the Port office. Electricity and water are available at permanent moorage slips and at the south guest dock. The east guest dock provides electricity only, no water.

PRICHARD is located off exit 32 from I-5. Take Kalama River Road and go east 5 miles to Prichard Store. On the right is water access/hand launch for boats.

Eat Smart
KALAMA HELPING HAND is located on Cloverdale Road. The Kalama Helping Hand serves as a local food and clothing bank.

Fairgrounds
KALAMA COMMUNITY FAIRGROUNDS is located on Kalama River Road at Haydu Park. The Kalama Community Fairgrounds started in 1965, has always been about bringing the community together.
Includes: exhibits, food, vendors, rides, games, animal showmanship, entertainment

Historical
TRANSPORTATION INTERPRETIVE CENTER is located inside the Port of Kalama office building and tells the story of how transportation formed the way Kalama was settled and developed, while treating visitors to immersive display models, replicas and videos, the most dramatic being the 1917 Northern Pacific steam locomotive that once traversed the rail lines through early Kalama in its operating years.
